FAT CAT ® Account
The Fat Cat® Account is a special package designed for young people age 12 and under. This account will help youth learn to save. With free deposits, passbooks and a higher interest on savings; birthday and holiday gifts, and piggy bank change quickly add up in the child’s account. Any guardian can open an account with a young person to help them get started. Fat Cat® members enjoy special benefits including an opening gift, and yearly personalized birthday card announcing the child's choice of a small present.

HEADSTART®
Designed for young adults 12 to 18 years of age at no monthly package fee. Your Credit Union wants to help you get a head start on good money management, and has created this special account to do just that. It combines the benefits of chequing and savings into one great package.

- Monthly statement with cheque imaging
- MEMBER CARD® debit card for ATM usage and direct payment purchases
- The first 30 in-branch or MEMBER CARD® related debit items per month (cheques, bill payments, AFT's, withdrawals, etc.)
- Electronic account access and transactions (internet)
- Inter-account transfers and deposits
- Interest is set at a competitive flat rate, calculated on the minimum daily balance, and paid monthly at month end

The STUDENTCHOICE® package is available to students enrolled in a recognized college, university or technical school, and taking a minimum 60% full-time course load. This package is designed to meet the special loan and banking needs of students. We offer a variety of options that help you take care of your finances so that you can concentrate on learning.

The STUDENTCHOICE® package allows you to select from a variety of products that suit you best:
- An interest-bearing student chequing account at a discount fee of $8.00 per month
- Monthly statement with cheque imaging
- A MEMBER CARD® debit card that can be used at any ACCULINK® or INTERAC† ATM machine in Canada or CIRRUS® machines around the world
- Unlimited In-branch and electronic debit items (cheques, bill payments, AFT's, withdrawals, etc)
- Electronic account access and transactions (phone and internet)
- Inter-account transfers and deposits
- Unlimited transactions at any ATM, not just Lakeland Credit Union ATM's
- Authorized overdraft facility - pay nominal usage fee and interest only for amount used*
- Interest is set at a competitive flat rate, calculated on the minimum daily balance, and paid monthly at month end
- Student loan up to $10,000/year to a maximum of $40,000 for four years* with monthly interest-only payments until six months after you finish or leave school
- Students obtaining a professional designation are entitled to additional funding to meet their educational costs*
