Helping Agricultural Producers
AgriInvest accounts help agricultural producers protect their margin from small declines. Lakeland Credit Union is proud to offer interest bearing AgriInvest accounts. To open an AgriInvest account members just need to bring their Deposit Notice and Account Initiation Form from Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada.
Each year, producers can make a deposit into an AgriInvest account and receive a matching contribution from federal and provincial governments. To receive the matching grants members must make a deposit within 90 days of receiving the AgriInvest Deposit Notice. Producers have the flexibility to withdraw the funds at any time to cover small margin declines or for risk mitigation and other investments.
AgriInvest is part of the Growing Forward suite of federal-provincial-territorial Business Risk Management Programs. For more information we encourage our members to visit www.agr.gc.ca/agriinvest
