Lakeland Credit Union's Wall of Distinction

In recognition of extraordinary leadership and significant contribution to LCU and our communities.

On June 8, 2022 we unveiling a project that our Board of Directors has been working.  Our credit union is dedicated to giving back to the community.  You know that, you see our staff and our Board volunteering in the community, you see the impact from our donations and sponsorships for local organizations and you feel it in your own accounts when profit share season rolls around.

We want to celebrate and honour those contributions and shine light on these individuals, and the amazing impact they have.  From this realization, Lakeland’s Wall of Distinction was born.

Each year we will recognize inspiring members from our past and present who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, significant contribution and dedication to the communities in the Lakeland region. Each Fall we will ask for nominations and each Spring the recipient will be chosen by our Board of Directors and will be announced at our Annual General Meeting.

This years recipient and our first inductee is Mr. Victor Ringuette

We are so honoured to have Victor as the first inductee of our Wall of Distinction in both Bonnyville and Cold Lake.  This wall will stand into the future as a permanent representation of our commitment to our communities and to our members who are committed to our communities.

Victor Ringuette

Victor was raised in Bonnyville from a young age and always maintained hometown values and a community focus throughout his life. His kind nature, dedication to excellence, and entrepreneurial spirit merged when Victor ventured into business, creating what would become B&R Eckel’s Transport Ltd.

B&R Eckel’s Transport Ltd. is known in the Lakeland not only for its trucks, but also for its generous sponsorship of community initiatives: sports teams of all ages, local events of all types, and the many non-profits and health foundations that serve our communities. In particular, Victor believed that the strong support of youth programs today would develop the strong community leaders of tomorrow.

His advocacy of Lakeland Credit Union mirrored his care of his community.

The B&R Eckel’s brand has become synonymous with safety, community, reliability, and

service. Victor’s name has become synonymous with unparalleled generosity.

Victor was a humble man who will ever be remembered for his kindness and his love of community.

Victor always said, "You do what you do, and you give what you can."

He was a man of his word.
